Nina Kaptsova was born in 1978 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. She studied at the Bolshoi Ballet School, in the class of Sofia Golovkina. She joined the Bolshoi Ballet in 1996, where she is now first soloist. Her coach at the Bolshoi is Marina Kondratieva.

Repertoire includes:
Masha in The Nutcracker, title role in Aniuta, Amor in Don Quixote, Aurora and Princess Florine in Sleeping Beauty, title role in La Sylphide, Cupid in The Bright Stream, Phrygia in Spartacus and Helena in The Midsummer Night's Dream.
