Alexander Ghindin was born in 1977 in Moscow.

At the age of 13, he becomes laureate of the Moscow Young Pianists Competition; then he is the youngest prize-winner of the 10th International Tchaikovsky Competition, few years later the 2nd prize of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and more recently, with great success he is the First Prize of the Cleveland International Piano Competition.
He is one of the first scholarship holders of the "New Names" International Charity Foundation.

Alexander Ghindin plays with major orchestras such as The Philharmonia, Orchestre National de Belgique, the Philharmonisches Orchester der Stadt Freiburg, Münchner Philhamoniker, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, de Luxembourg, de Monte-Carlo, de Bordeaux, Tours, Sevilla, the Rotterdam Philharmonisch Orkest, New Japan Philharmonic, European Youth Union Orchestra, Berliner Sinfonie Orchester, the Saint Peterburg Academic Philharmonia, Katowice Symphony Orchestra, etc.
He works with many conductors including Maestro Spivakov, Fedosseyev, Liljefors, Slatkin, Fagen, Simonov, Dmitriev, Slatkin, Neuhold, Ashkenazy, Inbal, Jurowsky, Casadesus , Ryan, Järvi…
In January 2002, he is making his America début with the Philharmonia Orchestra under Maestro Ashkenazy, performing Rachmaninov 4th Concerto (original version) at New York’s Lincoln Center – Avery Fischer Hall.

Alexander Ghindin is the guest of many Halls and Festivals as Warsaw Filharmonie, Kennedy Center (Washington), Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Salle Gaveau, Klavier Festival Ruhr, La Roque d’Anthéron, Radio France and Montpellier, Festival Chopin in Paris, Echeternach, Sintra, Great hall of the Conservatoire in Moscow, Prague Autumn at the Rudolfinum, Dubrovnik Festival, etc.
In 2004 & 2006, he is acclaimed touring in Japan as guest of the Osaka International Festival in the main Japanese cities including Tokyo and Osaka. He is almost every year at the Festival International de Colmar, where he plays concertos, sonatas, recitals…

Some of his projects:
recitals with Valdimir Spivakov in Paris - Théâtre des Champs Elysées -, Barcelona, Alicante, Waszawa Filharmonia… solo recitals in Pais – Serres d’Auteuil – Belgium, Duszniki Chopin Festival, Carnegie Hall… and numerous concerts with Orchestra; Orchestre National de Bordeaux, de Lille, Lithuania Symphony State Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, de Luxembourg,… under M° Casadesus, Pehlivanian, Spivakov, Lazarev, Valcuha…
His career is growing up with an impressive number of concerts in America.

Alexander Ghindin is also very present in Russia, were he has received the distinction of “honoured artist”, high title for a young artist as he is.

Alexander Ghindin records onto Capriccio (with Vladimir Spivakov: all Brahms sonatas for violin and piano, Schnittke Concerto…), Ondine (Rachmaninov Piano Concertos N°1 & 4 (original versions) with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and Maestro Ashkenazy). He also recorded many solo CDs onto Octavia.
