1976 yılında doğan Laure Favre-Khan ilk müzik öğrenimini Avignon Konservatuarında aldıktan sonra, 17 yaşında birincilikle ödüllendirildiği Paris Konservatuarına girdi. 20 yaşında ilk albümünde Schumann'ın eserlerini seslendirdikten bir yıl sonra tamamı Chopin'e ait ikinci CD'si yayınlandı. 1999 yılında Midem Müzik Festivaline kabul edildi. 2001 yılında New York Pro Piano Competition'da oybirliği ile verilen birincilik ödülünü alarak "ProPiano Artist of the Year 2001" seçildi. Aynı yıl ünlü Carnegie Hall'da çaldı. New York Times'ta hakkında olağandışı övgülerle dolu bir eleştiri yayınlandı.

Favre-Khan, başlıcaları arasında Auvers sur Oise, Orange (Chorégies), Bagatelle (Chopin Festival), Antibes (Festival des Jeunes Solistes), Evian (Rencontres Musicales), Reims (Les Flâneries Musicales), Paris (TransClassiques), Montpellier (Festival de Radio France), Rocamadour (Les Eclectiques) ve Nohant (Rencontres Internationales Chopin) gibi festivallerde yer alıyor, Orchestre Symphonique de Nancy, Orchestre Symphonique Français, Ensemble Orchestral de Normandie, Orchestre de Cannes, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Orchestre Colonne, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Orchestre Colonne, Orchestre de Bretagne, Orchestre de l'Opera de Rouen, 'Orchestre de Pays de Savoie gibi önemli orkestralarla başta Fransa olmak üzere Amerika, Avrupa, ve Asya ülkelerinde konserler veriyor.

Laure Favre-Khan Rheims Yaz Festivalinde verdiği konserlerde yapılan canlı kayıtlardan 4 albüm yapıldı. Ilk albümü (Rachmaninoff) 2003'te yayınlandı. İkinci albüm (Chopin Valsleri) 2004'te, üçüncü albümü (Gottschalk) 2006'da yayınlandı. Dördüncü albümün ( Çaykovski 1. Piyano Konçertosu ve Chopin 2. Piyano Konçertosu) yayın tarihi ise 2008.

****Biography
Born in 1976, Laure FAVRE-KAHN studied the piano at the Conservatoire in Avignon, before joining Bruno Rigutto's class at the Paris Conservatoire, where she was unanimously awarded a Premier Prix at the age of seventeen.

At the age of twenty, she made her first recording of works by Schumann, followed a year later by a CD devoted to Chopin, both on the Arion label.

In January 1999, she performed at the Midem Music Festival in Cannes as one of the ‘Revelations Classiques de l’ADAMI’.

She now makes regular appearances as a soloist or chamber musician in France and other countries, including Germany, Italy, Poland, the United States, Madagascar, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.



She has taken part in many important festivals: Orange (Chorégies), Bagatelle (Chopin Festival), Antibes (Festival des Jeunes Solistes), Evian (Rencontres Musicales), Reims (Les Flâneries Musicales), Paris (TransClassiques), Montpellier (Festival de Radio France), Rocamadour (Les Eclectiques), Nohant (Rencontres Internationales Chopin), etc.



Laure Favre-Kahn has guested with various orchestras: Orchestre Symphonique de Nancy, Orchestre Symphonique Français, Ensemble Orchestral de Normandie, Orchestre de Cannes, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Orchestre Colonne, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, etc.



She has been heard on radio (France Musique, France Info, RTL, France Culture, France Inter) and some of her concerts have been televised (France 3, Mezzo, LCI, La 5).



In May 2001 Laure Favre-Kahn was unanimously awarded first prize at the International Pro Piano Competition in New York. The following October she played at the famous Carnegie Recital Hall. After the concert she was voted ‘Pro Piano Artist of the Year, 2001’. In 2003 she made a recording of works by Reynaldo Hahn for Pro Piano Records, New York, which received a glowing review in the New York Times.



Laure Favre-Kahn has made three recordings in concert at the Reims Summer Festival (Les Flâneries Musicales) for Transart Live. The first, devoted to Rachmaninov, was released in 2003; the second, Chopin Waltzes, appeared the following year, and a recording of pieces by Gottschalk is due out next year.



In November 2004 she became an Ambassadress to Caméléon, a charity caring for children living in the streets in the Philippines. A concert she gave in aid of Caméléon near Manila last year was filmed by a French television team reporting on the charity.

She was one of five finalists chosen by the blind jury based on CD submissions and live in-person auditions conducted over the four day Memorial Day Weekend. On October 23, 2001 Pro Piano will present Miss Favre-Kahn in recital at The Carnegie Recital Hall in New York City, at which time the "blind jury" will determine if she is to be named "Pro Piano Artist of the Year, 2001."

The Pro Piano Artist of the Year Award includes a fully-paid recording contract with Pro Piano Records and inclusion in an illustrious group of pianists who comprise Pro Piano's artist roster. In total, the combined awards and artist fees can easily exceed $35,000 in value.

In addition to Ms. Favre-Kahn, the finalists included the following artists: Piano Duo Hans-Peter and Volker Stenzl from Germany, Piano Duo Antra and Normunds Viksne from Latvia, Etsuko Hirose from Japan, and Svetlana Navasardian from Armenia.
